Strangers 2
Exhibition Info

We Ate Pizza - Pamela Enz (US) & Connie Perry (US)
"We Ate Pizza' was created in a spontaneous joyful way in limited time and only a minimum amount of information regarding each other's work.

To begin we shared examples of our visual art, passed some on to each other then went and ate pizza where perhaps the 'real' work occurred as we exchanged a bit about ourselves and the history and spirit of our art which had in common its multi media foundation.

A week later laying out what we had made individuality from our exchange, then hanging up our choices collage fashion on a wall a true collaboration occurred .

Pleased with what we viewed and our video performances creatively satiated "We ate Pizza" once again.

Amber - Christina Thompson (US) & Oluchi Nwoko (Nigeria)
This piece is a fusion of our culture and interests, as well as traditional and digital media. Sharing our thoughts and ideas on colour, hair and makeup, we combined our styles; one focusing on the portrait, the other on the flowers, jewellery and tattoo designs. We enjoyed this process and learned a lot about working with another creative talent.

4 Eyes for 4 Fruits - Lucia Luna (Argentina) & Charlotte Johnson (US)
Charlotte made a painting, lucia projected it on the wall and interposed the work

Strangers Encounter (He Is Complaining About His Swollen Feet) - Vera Campion (US) & Harley Spiller (US)
Japanese posters from Harley were the inspiration. Vera's love of scissors and design created a new reality from different worlds.

Arcadia - Aranyak Ashford (India) & Veronica McLaren (US)
"Arcadia" is a collaborative digital abstract work that conjures images of a dream-like paradise using soft, luminous colors. It invites onlookers to immerse themselves in the tranquil and elegant aesthetics.

Synergy - Aralola Oladeinde (Nigeria) & Serse Luigetti (Italy)
Both of us drew from works we have created before to make a blend based on Serse’s digital layering techniques. The composition of the artwork includes pictures of two sculptures from Aralola and a painting from Serse, fused together and projected on an abstracted astral space.

Stewart Wilson (US) & Otobong Akpan (Nigeria)
Otobong's drawing merged with a close-up photo of Persona with my face embedded.

Mary Campbell (US) & Manuela Mordhorst (Germany)
Manuela created the painting "Carving my own paths" and passed it on to Mary who through her "word ritual" created a chance haiku to add to the painting.

Tamara Safford (US) & Paul Mbah (Nigeria)
I drew sketches of a forward for seniors group who sing the blues and other portray. Paul took a look and chose one of the blues singer. Then it inspired him to do some photoshop work and draw. My criticism was it looked raw. But Paul assured me it had more effectiveness. The rough edges of the paper. The camp fire. And the Beatrix potter like drawings of land animals. ..Paul then said. Think up a title. So I said it is easy as I am about to go to the annual Sharing the Fire conference in Glen Falls. And now as I look at the piece it seems like fitting material for a promotional piece to advertise Sharing the Fire
